Curated in collaboration with the Amerind Foundation, this juried exhibition features eighteen artists from Raices Taller 222 Art Gallery & Workshop collective. Artists were asked to submit artworks inspired by joy, striving to share the roots of their joy with visitors to the Amerind Foundation.
The artists of Raices Taller 222 Art Gallery & Workshop come from many different backgrounds, but all are rooted here in southern Arizona. Indigenous, Latino, and African American artists are among the presenting artists that came together to share diverse roots and create a truly unique and amazing exhibit.
Participating artists: Alberto Rivera, Antonio C. Estrada, Barbara Jo Borch, Bob Torrez, Carolyn King, Ceci Garcia, Clay Morgan, Cristina Cardenas, Dinah Fuentes, George Welch, Glory Tacheenie-Campoy, Jeremy Singer, John Salgado, Juan Enriquez, Linda Bohlke, Lydia Maldonado, and Ulises Ramos.
Founded in 1937, the Amerind Foundation is a museum and research facility dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of Native American cultures and their histories. Academic research center, museum, art gallery, historic property, scenic destination and community gathering place, Amerind is all of this and more. Its facilities are located near the village of Dragoon in Cochise County, Arizona, about 65 miles east of Tucson in Texas Canyon.
