CALL FOR ARTISTS

 

Women artists have been marginalized for centuries and still face many obstacles and disparities, as well as persistent underrepresentation in exhibitions and museum collections worldwide. In spite of these barriers, these artists continue to make art with the knowledge that art made by women has been largely ignored throughout much of history. The journey of women in art is a testament to resilience and creativity, and we at Raices continue to foster an environment that celebrates and supports these voices as they shape the future.

 

Now in its 20th year, Mujeres, Mujeres, Mujeres (Women, Women, Women) is our annual exhibition paying homage to the artistic achievements of women by exhibiting and applauding their work.  One of our largest exhibitions each year, this exhibition brings together an exciting mix of art from traditional to cutting edge contemporary created by women artists from all walks of life.

 

There is no thematic subject matter for Mujeres, Mujeres, Mujeres - this exhibition is instead a look at the exciting range of artwork currently being created by women.  We welcome (but are not limited to) submissions of paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, & mixed media work, etc.

ARTWORK SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

 

Due to the large number of entries for this annual exhibition, we ask that you submit no more than two (2) pieces for consideration.

 

All submissions must be original works of art. No giclées or other reproductions, with exception of limited edition prints and/or photography. There is a size limit of no larger than 30” x 40” framed or unframed – this includes diptychs, triptychs, etc. - the total size must be no larger than 30" x 40"    2D artwork must be either framed, or if unframed, on gallery wrapped canvas with painted edges for a finished, professional look.  Artwork should be submitted ready to hang preferably with D rings and picture wire or it will not be accepted – no sawtooth hangers accepted.

 

2 WAYS TO SUBMIT YOUR ARTWORK

1. Submit via Email:

 

Email high-resolution jpeg images of your work electronically to raicestaller222@gmail.com (maximum of 2 pieces for consideration) by end of day Friday, May 2, 2025. Please send us the highest quality images you can provide to show your work in the best light.

 

Your email must include your name, address & telephone number.Also include title of work, medium, dimensions & price for each submission. (When pricing your work, please keep in mind that the gallery percentage is 30% of the total sale price)

 

2. Submit in Person

 

Bring artwork you would like to be considered to the gallery (maximum of 2 pieces for consideration) on Monday, May 5 or Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm
