""CHUBASCO"

(a Monsoon Exhibition)

 

June 27 – August 8, 2026

Ready or not, summer is here and there’s a monsoon storm coming soon to a neighborhood near you!

 

As the humidity rises and we await our annual monsoon rains, it becomes evident that there’s nothing more universal than water, the substance that sustains life on Earth. The presence of water often has a joyous symbolic meaning, creating a feeling of pureness, sustaining & life-giving or it can be a strong natural force.  Water is also political - a major natural resource at the root of environmentalism as our planet struggles to accommodate a growing population that demands more and more.

 

We invite artists in all disciplines to explore water as a theme in painting, drawing, photography, sculpture and mixed media for Chubasco - an exhibition to honor our monsoon and to celebrate all things water!

ARTWORK SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

 

All submissions must be original works of art completed within the last two (2) years. No giclées or other reproductions, with exception of limited edition prints and/or photography. There is a size limit of no larger than 30” x 40” framed or unframed – this includes diptychs, triptychs, etc. - the total size must be no larger than 30" x 40".    2D artwork must be either framed, or if unframed, on gallery wrapped canvas with painted edges for a finished, professional look.  Artwork should be submitted ready to hang preferably with D rings and picture wire or it will not be accepted – no sawtooth hangers accepted.

2 WAYS TO SUBMIT YOUR ARTWORK

1. Submit via Email:

Email high-resolution jpeg images of your work electronically to raicestaller222@gmail.com (maximum of 2 pieces for consideration) by end of day Saturday, June 20, 2026. Please send us the highest quality images you can provide to show your work in the best light.

Your email must include your name, address & telephone number. Also include title of work, medium, dimensions & price for each submission. (When pricing your work, please keep in mind that the gallery percentage is 30% of the total sale price).

 

2. Submit in Person:

Bring artwork you would like to be considered to the gallery (maximum of 2 pieces for consideration) on Monday, June 22 or Tuesday, June 23, 2026  4:00 – 6:00 pm.
