I was blessed with two of the strongest women in my life with two very different backgrounds.

My Magrande Rosita was a soft spoken gentle God loving soul. She stood a strong 4ft tall. She was tiny but mighty only spoke Spanish and I only English, but I always knew how much she loved me.  She was one of 11 children, 10 girls and one boy. Her Father fled Mexico during the Mexican Revolution fearful for his family. My Magrande raised 6 children of her own and was blessed with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and was even blessed to meet her great-great grandchildren. She lived to be 105.

My Grandma Julia was also from a large family but she was born and raised in Tubac, Az. She was also a God loving soul whose love was felt through her amazing Sunday dinners I always looked forward to. Sadly my Grandmother passed when I was 10, but her legacy lives strong through all who loved her.

This piece is dedicated to them and the strong roots they laid down for us.
