The early days of Covid-19, I could be found in front of my sewing machine, sewing protective masks.  I then began remodeling my studio during the shutdown.  Sunday, May 3rd, I pulled up the kitchen shade to see a nest had been built on a cord hanging down from a sun screen on the patio.  This was just steps from the back door.  So over coffee we watched as a Hummingbird built her nest.  May 26th, we saw an orange beak extended from the nest, being fed.  Three days later, we saw a second beak peeking out waiting to be fed.  During this time, I began documenting the progress, from the nest being built, to the hatchlings being visible and their progression to fledglings finally taking their first flight.  What an awesome experience during this stressful time.  Our little “Charm of Messengers” still return daily.
