Pam Golden

The portrait process respected the constraints of the pandemic. We worked outside, masked, distanced by space and by the large format camera between us. For the 4 second exposure, Ahnvala removed her mask. 4 seconds.

When the pandemic limited our usual activities, I returned to the Willcox Playa, where the space, and the lay of light on land have always drawn me. The wind blows. Patterns, including active spider webs along the taut barbed wire that crosses this range land, change continually. It is always new.
